Yesterday was Spanish at the local HS, for which I was requested and pre-arranged (yay!). I don't know Spanish, but I know kids, and I think it went pretty well, considering.
Today, I was "Roving Cert K-5", which turned out to mean that they were having a staff training day, and there were 4-5 subs (I'm not sure who the subs were and who were regular staff--at least 4 of us were subs. We lunched together.). We were assigned to the gym to watch the kids watch "The Sound of Music." It is a great movie, but it is LONG. Especially for little little people. I had fun, though. I called The Beard and told him that they were going to pay me for watching The Sound of Music. We decided that if I could have knit, it would have been the perfect job --g--.
As many times as I have seen TSOM* I noticed something new today. Go figure.
And I gave my name to the music teacher at today's school. Score!
*I once watched each hour 5 times in a row, and it lasted a week. Monday: 0:00-0:40, Tuesday: 0:40-1:20--like that. 5 classes worth. I also did the same thing with Fiddler on the Roof (I cried every hour at the train station scene: "God only knows when we shall see each other again, Papa!" "Then we shall leave it in His hands." Kleenex!) By the time I got down the list to My Fair Lady, I was at a different school, and I only had 3 choir classes.
