I went to my ASG chapter's Annual Meeting today. It was a potluck. I LOVE going to potlucks with these women! Women who sew also cook well. Yum.
I made a bunch of little stuff for the annual auction, and I had a lot of fun doing it. I didn't get everything done that I had hoped to, but that's pretty par for my course. In addition to earrings:
got rid of re-homed several bits of sewing stuff that has been taking up space. Someone took home my set of bobbin boxes from my old machine that I replaced in 2002 (!). 5 boxes of bobbins, most with bits of thread. They're off to a new place to live. Not in my sewing room any more. Yay! I also was able to find homes for some old Warner Bros. cartoon fabric, a fabric book "My First US National Monuments" (what, exactly, do you think they were thinking of?!? I should have taken a picture of this before letting it go), some fat quarters, and it seems like there was something else, but maybe I'm just tired.
Anyway, most of my stuff sold. The earrings that didn't sell are going on etsy. I had a great time making them, so I think I'll do some more! I got out-bid on everything that I bid on, so I ended up spending no money, and making a bit for the chapter with my donations! All in all, a great day.
After I went to the meeting, I went shopping at one of my favorite malls. They were having a big ethnic fair, so the place was crowded. I got some beading stuff (!) [no fabric--not even 40% off flannel] at JoAnn's and at Michaels, grabbed a piroshky and some coffee and headed home. Where I promptely fell asleep for an hour and a half! I clearly should not have to get up that early on a Saturday morning.
I'm going to post some more earring pictures later. I got pictures of them in twos and threes, but I can't get Photoshop to work right now. Besides, it's 11:57, and I have to post this before midnight!
