Well, it's been three years here chez Carpe Acum. I meant to post a blogiversary post a couple days ago, but the whole jet-lag thing is still getting in the way.
Since we last spoke, I've been to Europe and back! Really! My SIL and I took a group of 17 students and my nephew to Germany for 3-1/2 weeks. We did the same sort of exchange trip 2 years ago, with similarly positive results. I think that it took less out of me this time than 2 years ago, for which I credit many painful and soul-sucking hours on the treadmill. I'm treadmilling for my health, but I am also losing weight, which cannot but help in the exhaustion factor. We stayed in an apartment for a week, then we travelled around Germany and Austria for a week, then stayed in the apartment for another week. Pictures coming.
For travel knitting, I took my STR yarn and nearly completed one sock. I thought I would have more knitting time, but it was taken up by things like "sleep" and "finishing Deathly Hallows before anyone told me the end." I had ordered the new HP book to arrive on the publication date, but ended up buying one there as well, and reading it nearly non-stop until I finished it on the plane trip home. In retrospect, I should have saved it to read on the plane, but I couldn't stand the idea that someone might tell me the ending before I got to it!
And I bought no yarn in Germany, although I did make it to a couple of shops.
I am noticing a bunch of hits. Several of you have refused to give up hope, even though I haven't posted for nearly 2 months. I will try to get back into it. I miss having a journal of my time, and I sure like reading everyone else's blogs, so I feel like I should do my part! If I can think of something fun, maybe I'll do the traditional blogiversary contest.
Pictures to come.
Happy Three Years to me!
