I counted the number of days until school starts. I have 47. That includes the 5 days I will be at day camp. I know that I won't have enough energy for aerobic workouts during that week. So I have 42 days left, and I need a little over 40 miles. Hmmm. . .
So I have decided that I need to walk about 1.25 miles per day so it will average out. That little ticker is pretty great motivation, since my original goal was .75 miles per day. Look out for me: I'm driven!
Today, I walked 1.3 miles, see?
So far so good. 40.7 miles, 42 days. Go me!
I went to Auburn yesterday and retrieved the cutting mats that I had left in Langley. The store owner at Quilting by the Sea had a meeting at The Calico Cat in Auburn, and very kindly brought my cutting mats that far. I was thrilled by her kindness, and had fun at the store, too! They had a big enamelware canning pot full of buttons, and Punkin stayed happy for about 30 minutes. I came away with no fabric (really!), but I did buy two kits to use up scraps. Toothbrush rugs and Locker hooking are my new hobbies, because, well, I needed more ways to take up my spare time <GG>.
I really do need ways to take up my spare *fabric*. I have spent the past two weeks going through every single thing in my sewing room. Well, nearly every thing. There are about 3 things on the tippy-top shelf that I haven't touched yet <g>. Finally, today, it is beginning to look better. I took <mumble, mumble> boxes of fabric and old magazines (Sew News--anybody want 'em?) out to the garage, and I am finally able to move around in the sewing room! The Beard put up my IKEA organizer strips tonight (Framat--they're discontinued, and I can't find a picture, not even on eBay), and replaced the closet doors, which I took off today to get a good shot at all the old fabric in the closet. Man, I've been collecting. I really need to sew some up. I managed to get out of the fabric store on Tuesday without buying fabric because I have so stinking much already--fabric that I *had* to buy, but has now sat in the closet, unused and rejected, for who knows how long? Nothing like a little cleaning and organization to bring you up short and make you take notice.
I don't even want to talk about yarn and knitting books, and I've only been knitting for a couple years! Where does it all come from? Never mind that. I just need to get BUSY!
And I need to walk. About 1.25 miles every day. Or so. Roughly.
