I have to say that my plan is working. Just being in my sewing room is making me think of more things that I want to sew. I'm still spending way too much time on facebook (and I just got my invitation to Pinterest, but I haven't wasted much time there yet), but I'm getting things done.
This week, all the bags that I'm sewing for $$ have to be done by February 10. That will be ALL of my sewing time, which will be less than usual, since I have GS commitments and regular life going on. In addition, I have an annoying little sore throat, which I'm concerned may turn into something more problematic. It hasn't gotten worse today, and it's totally manageable with Advil, so maybe those daily vitamins are doing something after all!
The bag designer and I spent almost 2 hours at Hancock's on Thursday and selected the rest of the fabrics that we need for the bags. It was interesting how different our visions were. She has been happy with everything I've done so far, and I hope she'll be happy with these, too. Several of the fabrics she chose were not even close to what I would have picked! But she's the designer, and what she wants is what she gets! I have all the fabric prewashed and ready for cutting tomorrow. I can't decide if it's more efficient to finish each bag individually, or to try to do all the cutting, then all the sewing, then all the finishing. Oh, and I have to knit and felt the back for one bag (my idea--what was I thinking?!?!)
Punkin is at a sleepover party tonight. When I asked her what she wanted to get the birthday girl, she told me that the birthday girl had requested pajama pants from her. I made her some zebra striped ones last year (?) and she wants some more. How could I say no? Luckily, JoAnn's had flannels on sale (again) and we ended up getting some that had pigs saying "oink." It was cute and really soft. I also made her a zebra stripe pillowcase. I'm pretty sure she'll be happy with both of them. It made me feel good to know that she really liked the ones I made before, and I think it made Punkin feel good to know that birthday girl didn't think her mom was some kind of weirdo who made pajama pants for gifts --g--.

I agree... so exciting when you find out that your gift is truly enjoyed. I made PJ pants for my neighbors for Christmas. I love when the teenage son comes over to my house... wearing the PJ pants.
Pinterest is wonderful, lovely, informative....and so addictive. As soon as in log into Pinterest, time stands still.
